Why this exists
Most households are one long power cut from a muddle, not a disaster. Getting a few sensible basics sorted is household admin, and nobody should need a bunker, a bucket of freeze-dried food or a new personality to do it.
What we believe
Most people already own a useful share of what they need. The best first move is a stocktake and a plan, not a shopping spree. Calm beats clever. Practical beats impressive.
How we source
We start with Australian official and authoritative guidance, label our own practical suggestions separately, and update content when guidance changes. The Ready Check is our own prioritisation tool, not a government rating.
How we make money
Right now the site is free to use and we don't sell anything. We're building a practical household kit based on what the Ready Check shows people are missing. If we sell it, or recommend anyone else's products, we'll say so plainly, explain why each item is there and who doesn't need it.
